Yonder: The Cloud Catcher Chronicles is an an open-world adventure game set across a beautiful, vibrant island, will plant its roots on PS4 and Steam on July 18th.
Yonder is set on the massive island of Gemea, a lush frontier with eight distinct environments ranging from sunny tropical beaches to frigid snow-capped summits. Each location has its own flora and fauna, along with changing seasons and a day-night cycle. Gemea, once a paradise, still maintains the appearance of one, yet an evil murk has enshrouded the land and its people in despair.
By contributing to the island through talents like farming, crafting, cooking, fishing and brewing, relationships can be built with the locals, who offer everything from resources to a new farm as rewards.
At the heart of Yonder, is a game that delivers a sense of discovery, wrapped in a familiar yet unique adventure.
Critters of Gemea
Scattered throughout the island of Gemea are wondrous and delightful critters.
Through your adventures you can befriend and adopt these critters. Be mindful, however, that the critters will pay you no mind if you do not have a supply of their favorite food on hand.
Inhabitants of Gemea
Since the Murk took hold, the inhabitants have tried their best to continue on with life. They are warm and generous people; but they have endured much over the years.
If you take the time to talk with them, they will teach you how to survive, teach you more about the flora and fauna, and they may even talk about a time before the Murk.
The island of Gemea
Gemea is home to eight distinct regions, or biomes. Each of these biomes are unique in their flora, fauna and critters.
Throughout your adventures you will discover that each region holds unique places to discover, remnants from before the Murk, and distinctive features and landmarks.
If you search long enough, you may also discover long forgotten treasures or even find a cat. Possibly 55 cats. But who is counting...
The Grasslands
During the day the sun gleams off the lake, and during the night the tip of Numino Peak gleams like a guiding light.
Clatters of groffles lumber about while kawaii of grass foxes flitter about in the sun.
Hearthwind Vale
The light dances around the valleys and hills that have been carved by water and softened by wind over the centuries. In the distance, the rooftops of homes beckon you toward Bobbintoff.
Clouds of fabbits drift along the grassy valleys and twisted trees.
Numino Peak
Steep, rugged, and covered with snow, Numino Peak stands as a center point of Gemea. When the stars appear, and the moon graces the sky, Numino Peak glows like a beacon to guide your path.
Through snow storms and bitter cold somehow the cozies of girpaccas thrive.
Sunderwind Wilds
Trees are scattered throughout and yellow flowers reach up toward the sky. Remnants of the Old Kingdom, shroud in Murk, lie just out of reach.
Bolds of squmobles dart about, hidden in the tall grasses.
