Ingredients
75g unsalted English Butter by Sainsbury's
10 slices soft white bread
50g golden raisins by Sainsbury's
400ml milk by Sainsbury's
100ml double cream by Sainsbury's
2 large British free-range Woodland egg by Sainsbury's, beaten
25g Fairtrade caster sugar plus 2tbsp for sprinkling
2tsp Madagascan vanilla extract
½ tsp freshly grated nutmeg
½ tsp ground cinnamon by Sainsbury's

Method
1. Butter the bread slices and then cut each slice into triangles.
2. Arrange the triangles in a buttered ovenproof baking dish and scatter the fruit over and between the bread.
3. In a bowl, whisk together the milk, cream, eggs, sugar, vanilla and spices.
4. Pour over the bread, making sure the slices are soaked. Leave to stand for 20 minutes.
5. Preheat the oven to 180º C, fan 160ºC, gas 4. Sprinkle the surface with the remaining sugar and bake for 35 minutes.
6. Serve with cream or custard.
